Over the weekend of Feb. 15-16th, the executive board of the Georgia Alpha chapter had the opportunity to attend the annual Carlson Leadership Academy (CLA) conference. The weekend consisted of learning from multiple alumni different skills and opportunities to better ensure the growth and sustainability of the Georgia Alpha chapter. Each officer attended a track tailored to their specific position where they were taught how to better execute their respective role in the fraternity. On top of being educated on their position, the weekend had a multitude of inspirational speakers and messages for the officers to take in and further develop their leadership potential.
The weekend provided more clarity on the substance free by-law passed during the 2017 conclave. Workshops were held on the development of residential learning communities, on how to better program and plan given the new by-law, and on using data analytics with the brotherhood questionnaire to better understand our fraternity and its members. With this new information, the executive boards looks forward to better programming in the years to come.
